Mary's Spaghetti Sauce

For years I have been saying that I need to make my mom's spaghetti sauce. After she died, I because the proud owner of all her recipes. After 15 years, I can finally say that I have made her spaghetti sauce. My friend, Julie and I, made this sauce for our freezer cooking day. (More on that soon.) It is SUPER easy and is SO much better than jarred sauce! This recipe made enough for our family to have five dinners and extra for lunches.

2 lbs ground chuck
4 large (32 oz) tomato sauce
1 large (32 oz) tomato paste
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 large onion, diced
1/4 cup dried parsley
1/2 teaspoon oregano
2 teaspoons crushed garlic
salt and pepper to taste

Brown mean and onion. Add all other ingredients. Simmer for 1 1/2 hours partially covered. Stir often. **I simmered mine for 2 hours and it was superb! Serves 15-18 adults (depending on how much sauce you like on your spaghetti.)
